Paying homage to the Banff Soroptimist Club's first president Pearl Riley, this exquisite pendant hangs from a 14-carat white gold, diamond-cut chain, and features a cream-coloured cultured pearl. Incorporating the founding date of the world's first Soroptimist club in 1921 and the Banff club's 21st annual fundraising dinner, the pearl is flanked by an 18-carat yellow gold number two and 18-carat white gold number one encrusted with 18 one point diamonds.
"When I saw "Pearl", I knew I wanted to give it to my daughter on her 18th birthday. You see, it is 18kt white gold and 18kt yellow gold, and 18 diamonds (her birthstone).
Nicky told me that she had 21 diamonds for this piece, but the diamond setter only set 18. She wondered why... I knew. You see, I knew it was meant for Olivia.
I wanted to gift this to my daughter from her 2 brothers, who have passed over, as a reminder of how proud they would be of their little sister. The "2" and "1" represent David and Adam - brothers 1 and 2 and that David will always be "21" to her.
Also, in legend, a pearl represents a tear drop. My wish is that it is a tear of joy as she remembers the two brothers who gave her this gift in honour of her 18th birthday via me - her mom.
Nicky's designs are more than pieces of jewellery - they hold an intention. They are divinely crafted infused with love, thought, and care. A story unfolds adding to the uniqueness of each piece. It was such a pleasure to work with Nicky in re-crafting my wedding rings, and creating my "trinity" of rings. I love them!
She captured the essence of my idea and surpassed my expectations.
Her knowledge and expertise in design, gems, metals, and understanding the significance of what it will mean to the wearer, results in a perfectly executed unique piece.
With pleasure,
